What are some interesting facts about you?
I moved to Australia after university but ended up in the UK for 25 years. I was once an avid fencer trained by the ex-England Olympic fencing coach, Brian Pitman and his champion wife Eileen for over a decade in Portslade, East Sussex. I have been fortunate to have visited many countries covering 6 out of 7 continents. I repatriated to the US in early 2018 after visiting my father in Oregon during the summer 2017 eclipse, making an instant decision to return, and eventually arriving back to my native Californian roots.
What do you do at Bridge?
I am a Sr Client Service Associate working alongside Amarette (Ammie) Trujillo, supporting the Wealth Management Team in Newport Beach and Pasadena.
What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?
I was really pleased to get my CII DIP in London which is the UK equivalent of a Business BA. Being in a different country, raising a family, learning the London Market, UK Economics and Law to become an Underwriter for Insurance was super interesting and engaging for the nerdy academic in me.
I was awarded a Distinction (highest ranks) for the effort. I was an Underwriter for domestic and international expat mortgages, then group risk (life and disability), and international health insurance. Like many colleagues at Bridge Advisory, I experienced the market shake up in 2008 while working for the UK division of AIG, and it was a challenge that taught me a lot about resilience and the need for absolute transparency across the market.
Since returning to the US, I pivoted away from Insurance and into Wealth Management and have been a Client Service Associate for the last 5+ years – learning everything I possibly could about supporting clients and developing strong, long-lasting relationships.
